I got NTTR at a discount early on, but I also believe it'd be worth the full $50, especially now that they added most of the actual airports in the region. are present in NTTR, so if you want a truly realistic simulation experience, this is as close as we can get in DCS. All existing significant highways and major structures/farms/etc. looks good even in the low res areas if you're at altitude. However, the whole of NTTR's surface textures were done from modern satellite imagery, so coloration etc. NTTR's height map is 450x410nm, with the "high res" area being roughly 150x150nm. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool map, but you'll have a hard time looking at one area and comparing it to what you might see today flying over it in your cessna or piper. About half of that area is land, and most of the high res area is artificial. The Normandy height map is 220x190nm, with the "high res" area being 190x140nm.

NTTR is the only one using satellite images to generate the base surface textures. r/flightsim - Flight Sim goodness across the entire spectrum of aviation. r/falconbms - Only one engine?
